With an open mind, Flo arrived in Lobitos as HTI’s first intern late March 2016, a week after the opening of a new centre in Primavera, and aided in the running and realisation of HTI’s programmes over the course of 4 months. Enchanted by the magic of Lobitos and its people, Florence aims to continue supporting High Tides International and the children of Lobitos as a Outreach Coordinator (UK) & Ambassador.  With her continued involvement, she hopes to see the growth and sustainability of the programmes that benefit the kids that she got to know during her time in Lobitos.

nickNick Dodds // Treasurer // Growing up in Northern Ontario, Nick developed two of his major interests: enjoying the outdoors, and moral reasoning. A combination which led him to the UBC’s Okanagan Campus, where he earned a B.A. in Philosophy, and to the National Outdoors Leadership School, where he earned a diploma in Outdoor leadership after a semester in the wilderness of north eastern India. At UBC, Nick was elected to the University Senate and the Executive Committee of the Student Society. In these roles he successfully spearheaded a complete revision of the Society’s Bylaws and redrafted the Organization’s staff structure. Professionally, Nick hopes to address systemic social issues with creative and sustainable solutions. He is excited to continue on that path as a part of HTI’s board of directors and can’t wait to visit our programs in Lobitos!

headshotAlexa Creelman // Chair // Alexa’s relationship with Peru began shortly after graduating with her degree in International Relations minoring in Spanish, when she was accepted into the International Youth Internship Programme with the Canadian Co-operative Association. She was posted in Northern Peru on an international development project with Norandino, an agricultural co-operative, where she returned and continued working for almost 2 years.
